During an interview with Esquire's official website, Billy Dee Williams admitted that he was afraid to return as Lando to "Star Wars: The Skywalker Ascension." The actor was part of the classic trilogy.
“I thought, 'Do I still have the same excitement as those years?' When you arrive at a certain age, you think differently. ”
“So, I put in my mind that if I was going to work on it, it had to be good. I had to be fine, even visually. I've always looked at Lando like Steve Wynn, running Las Vegas casinos. He is a cheater, but he is also a showman, an interpreter. I never imagined Lando being this action guy, who goes around shooting at others and venturing out. ”
Star Wars: Skywalker Ascension hits theaters on December 19, and features the returns of veterans Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher (who will have archival footage used), Billy Dee Williams and Anthony Daniels.
As for the latest names, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Matt Smith and Keri Russell are also confirmed.
J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) returns in direction.
