Ninebot, a Chinese company that owns the Segway vehicle brand, unveiled the S-Pod on Friday, a model that looks, in appearance, similar to an armchair, but has a similar operation to the other vehicles of the company. The highlight is the self-balancing system which allows, according to technology, to easily control the vehicle.
According to the international press, there is a control on the right side of the S-Pod that allows you to move the chair – and at the speed and direction chosen by the user, the self-balancing system keeps everything “in line”.
The big difference with other Segway vehicles is that it allows the user to be fully seated while on the move. According to the first information shared by the brand, the S-Pod reaches a top speed of 38 km / h and has a range of 70 kilometers.
The vehicle seems to have been designed for travel in areas such as airports and theme parks, for example, but the full details of the Segway S-Pod will not be revealed until next week – the vehicle will be one of the brand's stars at the Consumer Electronic Show.
