The new generation of Nissan Versa already has a date to debut in Brazil. Imported from Aguascalientes, Mexico, the sedan arrives in June to further warm up the Chevrolet Onix Plus, Hyundai HB20 S, Toyota Yaris Sedan and Volkswagen Virtus segments.

The model will be sold in more than one version here. The aggressive and more sporty design and safety package are the highlights.

With the same V platform as the predecessor model, the sedan is four inches longer in length (4.53 meters), 4.5 inches wider and 5.8 inches lower. The wheelbase goes from 2.60 m to 2.62 m. The trunk eventually grew in size: it jumps from 460 to 482 liters. The Mexican model, in turn, has "only" 425 l

The engine for every line will be the familiar 1.6 flex of the Kicks. But instead of 114 hp, the Versa will come with 118 hp. The transmission is automatic CVT. Manual shifting is not discarded in the input version.

Already interior will assume the identity we see in the Kicks. Multimedia center with 7-inch screen and partially digital instrument panel are some elements. Security has also been tightened.

The flagship version, which should meet pepal SV, will come with Nissan Intelligent Mobility, a set of technologies that includes lane change alert, emergency braking assistant, blind spot system, 360 ° vision with motion detector, driver attention alert, tire pressure monitoring system and rear cross traffic alert – as well as adaptive cruise control.

The current generation will continue to be produced in Resende (RJ), but will adopt the name V-Drive. The nomenclature is accompanied by reduced versions in the line.

The focus is to rival Renault Logan, Ford Ka Sedan and Fiat Cronos. The brand did not confirm how long the two generations will live in Brazil.

The Nissan Versa was launched in Brazil in 2011 – coming from Mexico. In 2015, facelift appeared along with national production. The last update has finally received the CVT automatic gearbox.

However, the model never even fought the hands of the segment: Chevrolet Onix, Ford Ka Sedan or Hyundai HB20S.

The year with the best sales performance was 2017, with 27,993 units. In 2019 there were 21,779 placements.
