Of Apple's new operating systems, only one has not yet been released. I speak of macOS Catalina 10.15, which, according to Apple, will arrive sometime in October. Until then, no specific date had been aired, but today Apple itself may have revealed the mystery.
Exceptional gaming experiences.
Find it on the App Store from October 4th.
On the service page, however, there is no date reference as well as on macOS Catalina pages in other languages (including a in Portuguese).
Apple Arcade on Mac obviously requires macOS Catalina; therefore, if the gaming service is available on 4/10 on Apple computers, macOS Catalina must also be available on that day.
MacRumors, however, noticed that something plays against the date. Historically, macOS updates occur on a Monday or Tuesday. The last time a system update was released on Friday was with OS X Snow Leopard, released… 10 years ago!
Apple could, according to the site, launch macOS Catalina 10.15 earlier this week and then launch Apple Arcade on October 4. However, it makes little sense that it is not available as soon as the OS is released – after all, it is now available for iOS / iPadOS and tvOS.
And which date would you bet?
