Filmmaker James Cameron and producer Jon Landau are already in New Zealand, where they will continue recording the Avatar sequence.
Taken as an example in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, New Zealand allows foreigners to enter with a self-isolation period of 14 days after arrival, as a way to prevent a new outbreak of the disease in the country.
Landau shared a photo of his arrival with Cameron and wrote:
“We arrived in New Zealand. Our 14-day government-supervised self-isolation begins now. ”
The sequences will have the respective titles: Avatar – The Way of Water (Avatar: The Water Bearer), Avatar – The Seed Bearer (Avatar: The Seed Bearer), Avatar – The Tulkun Rider (Avatar: The Tulkun Knight) and Avatar – The Quest for Eywa (Avatar: The Search for Eywa).
Avatar hit theaters in 2009 and, despite their astronomical success, James Cameron and company have spent nearly a decade developing four sequels that will not hit the screens until 2021.
The cast features Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Cliff Curtis, Kate Winslet, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi and David Thewlis.
