During an interview with GQ Magazine's portal, Matt Damon commented on his near participation in “Avatar,” a film that within ten years has remained the biggest box office of all time.
Before Sam Worthington took the lead role, Damon received an offer from director James Cameron.
“Jim Cameron really offered me Avatar. I remember him saying something like, ‘Look, I don't need a big star in this movie. If you refuse, I'll get someone unknown. But if you accept, I'll give you 10% of the .. '
"So you can tell it was quite a pile of money."
Considering that 10% would be a share of the box office, Damon stopped earning over $ 250 million, as Avatar made $ 2.79 billion around the world.
Worthington must have signed a much more modest contract.
Avatar 2 hits theaters on December 17, 2021.
